Outings Organiser

We are desperate for people to join the Outings Team helping to organise Outings for the many disadvantaged families in the Reading area.
The Outings may be to local Farm Parks, the seaside in Bournemouth, the Panto, a zoo/animal park, theme park.

Tasks include:
  • Planning and costing outings for the forthcoming financial year.
  • Liaising with partner organisations.
  • Booking coaches.
  • Booking destinations such as farm parks and arranging for ticket purchases. 
  • Conducting Risk Assessments for all outings. 
  • Attending outings (these take place on weekdays in school holiday times) 
  • It is hoped that you might also get involved in fundraising activities (eg summer fetes) and helping at the Toy Project

Skills and attributes required
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and gmail systems
  • Excellent communicator 
  • Enthusiasm to promote first hand experiences for children and their families. 
  • Willingness to undertake safeguarding training. 

Time commitment 
  • Meetings 
  1. Outings sub committee  - 5 x 1.5 hour in person throughout the year
  2. RFA  Committee - 5x 2hour by zoom first Thursday bi monthly
  3. RFA AGM and committee  - 3hours  in person once annually in July
  • Planning Outings 
  1. times vary throughout the year averaging 6 hours per month.
  2. Outings 5 full days (1 in the Easter holidays, 4 in the summer holidays)
