Donate Funds to us
You can donate now and throughout the year via Local Giving and Paypal (see below).
We need funds to pay for the many Outings we do throughout the year, for toys, gifts and vouchers for the Christmas Toys and Teens project as well as for our very minimal ongoing expenses.
Our overheads are very low as we have no premises and no paid staff. Only 5% of our expenditure was on general overheads (stationery, website, email etc), 56% went on toys, gifts and 'Toys and Teens' expenses and 39% on Outings

We don’t get a grant from the council. We don’t have any reserves. We rely upon our generous business sponsors to help us as well as applications we make to charitable trusts. And, of course, the numerous donations we receive from lovely members of the public.
The Christmas Toys and Teens Appeal always comes first. We aim to spend around £2,000 running the Toy Appeal each year plus a variable amount on toys. In 2023 we spent over £15,000 on toys, gifts and vouchers using funding that was provided and money that was donated on our GoFundMe.
With extra funding we hope to arrange a number of outings throughout the year varying from visits to Farm Parks, the seaside, theme parks, zoos and the panto as well as our annual visit to Camp Mohawk. We can spend up to £20,000 on outings in a year. In 2023 we spent around £14,000.

There are a number of ways that you can help us make ends meet:
- Donate through GoFundMe, PayPal (see button below) or our Localgiving web page.
- Subscribe to EasyFundraising - we get a very small percentage of pretty much anything you buy on-line (including holidays, insurance etc as well as goods) and it costs you nothing. See the button below.
- Enter the Reading Lottery and choose us as the beneficiary - you pay £1 a week and 50p comes to us and you have the chance of winning up to £25,000.
- Organise an event at work, at your place of worship, school, club or just with a bunch of friends and donate the proceeds to us.

If you think your business might be able to support us, please get in touch. If your business donates £2,000 or more in a single year, you can be featured as one of our major sponsors.
You can also support us by registering with Easy Fundraising and choosing Reading Family Aid as your nominated charity. Then each time you purchase anything online through one of these sites and may more, we get a few pence - it costs you nothing extra.
* Note that if more funds are raised through our GoFundMe than are needed for this year's Toys and Teens Appeal, the excess funds will be used for next year's Appeal or for our Outings.
