We would be nothing without our volunteers! Could you spare a few hours of your time to help us? We are looking for people who can help on an ongoing basis with Publicity and with organising Outings. Read on to see how you might be able to help.
Volunteering at our Toys and Teens Appeal We are seeking volunteers to help in these specific roles in our 'Toy Week' (7-12 December 2025):
Experienced Sorters and Packers We're especially keen to hear from anyone who's volunteered in Toy Week before - you'll be able to get us off to a flying start!
Apprentice Van Manager We would also love to hear from anyone who's interested in shadowing our VanMan Frank as he organises collections of donations, and creates the delivery schedule for our team of drivers and loaders / unloaders, with a view to taking on the role for future Toy Weeks.
Van helpers We're also keen to recruit more people to our van team. We have enough drivers for this year, but need people to travel in the vans with the drivers and help with loading and unloading.
Book Sorters And as ever we would like to hear from you if you are or were a teacher or children's librarian, and could give us a day or more of your time between 7 - 12 December, to check books for quality and ensure the books go to the appropriately-aged children.
Other roles on our Committee Outings We are particularly looking for Outings Organisers. We tend to do about six outings each year to a variety of venues/destinations (eg, seaside, theme parks, farm parks, zoos, pantomime etc) . Click here for more information.
Publicity We are also keen for people to join our Publicity Team who are good at writing and could write newspaper articles, newsletters, our blog. We are also looking for someone to maintain the website content. Click here for more information.
Get in touch If you might be interested in joining our team, do get in touch. We are always looking for people who have time, have good admin skills and can use a computer for emails and Word - and preferably Excel. If you think you can help, then hit the button below and let us know.
Fundraising help We are always grateful for any help fundraising, so if you have any ideas for how to raise some money to support us - running a marathon, organising a bake sale, or jumping out of a plane! - then we would love to hear from you.
We are most grateful to anyone wishing to raise funds for RFA, but we cannot be liable for any problems/losses that occur. If you wish to organise an event to support our cause then you are fully responsible for any eventualities as it is your choice to participate.
