First thing on the morning of 1st August some of the committee and a few helpers set up three pitches at the Early Green Fair. We had a books and bric-a-brac stall with items kindly donated by friends of the committee members, delicious home made cakes and chutneys which always go down well, a Tombola stall with lots of tempting prizes. One young woman dearly wanted to win one prize and was unsuccessful, but her boyfriend came back at end of the day to see if it had been won - it hadn't - and bought it from us! A toys and jigsaw stall was a roaring success - with jigsaws very good value at 3 for five pounds. Young children rummaged through a box of soft toys and a box of small cars - one young lad trying out various small diggers and lorries on the gravel path before deciding which to buy with his pound coin.
The sun shone and the rain stayed away for a change, and an enjoyable and profitable day was had by all, with £671.50 being raised for our funds. A big thank you to everyone who contributed! Comments are closed.
